“It’s the theatre restaurant of the mind…”

About Nightlight

Nightlight Productions was created in 2002 in an effort to create a democracy in China and permeate a general feeling of peace and goodwill amongst people everywhere. Instead, all it acheived were a few radio series and the general appearance of a skanked-up badger.

It debuted in all it’s greatness on the Grim Fandango Network (riding the coat tails as it were), and now finds itself five designs later in an undetermined corner of the Lucas Arts network, still chugging along slowly but surely.

This website design is the fourth, maybe, potentially the fifth. Each time the website has been redesigned, Metallus has suffered another nervous breakdown. I’m sure these are completely coincidental.

It’s purpose? Who can say. Funny radio plays and the occassional soapbox for blogging.

About the windswept Matthew Smith (MJ)

Who is he again?
He used to be on the radio. very localised stuff, on 2NUR-FM in Newcastle, Australia. During that time he was responsible for a cult classic weekly radio play called ‘The Chronicles of Howard’ (1999).

Cult classic? Isn’t that another way of saying that nobody listened to it?
It was quite popular with a few of the oldies. People high in the sky seemed to appreciate the dulcet tones of a dodgy John Howard impersonation, certainly.

What’s this got to do with ‘Nightlight Productions’? Back on the topic, you.
Well one thing invaribly leads to another, you see. ‘The Chronicles of Howard’ led to greater and more diverse radio series, such as ‘Tierra de los Muertos’, ‘Lost Cause’, an ambitious effort called ‘The Howard Saga’, and ‘Beneath Monkey Island’. There’s also a few others on the planning list. The internet being an excellent outlook for creativity led to Nightlight Productions making its dramatic entrance.

So essentially your stuff got taken off air
Don’t be so cynical. Essentially, real life got in the way. It also leaves the airways clear for more ‘easy listening’.

So are you going to pay more attention to your website now?
It’s a distinct possibility. That’s the plan anyway. He’s also putting the finishing touches on the Tierra de los Muertos book.

Insert ‘Douglas Adams’ related comment here
He’s dabbling in a couple of other book ideas, if it helps.

If he’s so good then what’s he doing on this website?
Basking in the green and putting up regular popular radio plays.

Oh ha ha. Can I go now?
Sure. Just click on the nifty ‘Nightlight Productions’ up the top and be slightly amused.

No thanks. This website is just a little too gay for my liking.
Just think of it as a coffee place, or maybe even an ice-cream parlour.

Like that’s going to make things any better!

About the swarthy David Eggers (Metallus)

Metallus has recently kicked a really bad Puzzle Pirates addiction. By reading this he’s probably experiencing withdrawal symptoms of some kind. He is entirely responsible for this website’s design in it’s green glory, and has been mostly to blame to various degrees for the previous Nightlight websites as well.
